Since she would live in the cul-de-sac a while before meeting him, I was imagining she’d be less of a one-episode character and have more of an overarching story. My initial idea for a connection to Bro was that she developed her admiration of him by seeing him barely supervising Ed, Eddy and eventually Jonny outside, being too young to read Bro as irresponsible and instead envying the freedom he allowed the other neighborhood babies. She was gonna have a Dentist Dad who was barely around but a good hard-working role model, a Trophy Housewife Mom who was very vain and largely responsible for Nazz’s vapidity, and then her real caretaker would be her Aunt Marion who spent her life in the mom’s shadow and developed depth and plants the seeds for the backbone Nazz develops in her final developments of Big Picture Show.īasically, Nazz was gonna be one of the first babies to move into the cul-de-sac, and her life would be a lot more Rugratty, kept indoors and wanting to play outside. Thank you very much! I’ll be honest, I was the least sure what I wanted to do with Nazz and Bro, so I was a lot more interested in her family dynamics. I could’ve sworn Bro did a backwards mouth somewhere too but I can’t find it, I guess I was just thinking about how far back he yanks his mouth in that last shot. Probably worth adding, Bro is also shown to share Eddy’s squinty eye and playing with his mouth tics: Eddy also has a few visible tics, like a tendency to squint one eye, playing with his lip, making weird scrunchy/backwards mouths, and ‘Smile For The Ed’ shows him seizing up, twitching and contorting his body when overwhelmed by the kids’ bullying. Ooohhh, when I took a child psychology course in college, I feel like nearly every mental illness was evoking Eddy possibilities to me! I’m not an expert so I don’t want to label him with so little knowledge of mental illnesses, but anxiety disorders feel like a give-in, disruptive behavior disorders suit his issues at school, and pervasive development disorders could probably explain how he justifies his behaviors. Okay, do you think Eddy could have other mental illnesses besides PTSD? Eddy is one of the best depictions of a child warped from abuse that I’ve ever seen and I love that so much!!!!! He was still a jerk obviously but he was also a scared abused child in need of serious help.
#Dead by daylight with ed edd n eddy sound effects series
The realization I had at the ending of “holy shit Eddy was clearly abused by Bro!!!” Changed everything!!!Īfter that I rewatched season 1 and 2 trying to look for more hints to the abuse and I kept this mindset throughout the rest of the series and noticed how broken Eddy was. What really propelled him to the top spot as not just my favorite EENE character but my favorite character period would be when I watched Pass It On Ed.
I loved his humor, his troublemaking attitude and how he still cared about Ed and Edd in spite of the things he’d do to them sometimes. Hmmm… Was there an episode or scene in particular that was responsible for Eddy becoming your favorite, if you have any stray questions about Eddy that you’d like to ask, let me know!Įddy was my favorite from day one.
